This artwork is part of my series "When Life is Fading Away," in which I seek to capture the fragile beauty of nature in its final stages. This piece reflects both the fragility and strength of nature, depicting an aspen leaf in its skeletonized form. Using ink and watercolor, I emphasized the intricate structure that conveys the passage of time and the enduring harmony of nature. The skeletonized leaf serves as a metaphor for the delicacy of human existence, which reveals its true essence over time. This work was a personal challenge for me as I explored new techniques, blending the depth of watercolor with the precision of ink to create a complex texture. It was created specifically for the online exhibition by the Association of Botanical Artists (ABA), where I present my approach to botanical art. My botanical illustrations are not just quickly executed, they are a multi-layered process that requires hours of meticulous work. Every tiny detail is carefully crafted to convey the full beauty and unique characteristics of each plant. This labor-intensive process makes each piece truly valuable and cherished by art connoisseurs. The works are made on 100% Saunders Waterford archival quality 300g/cm cotton watercolour paper, using the world's best watercolour inks with the highest lightfastness index.
