To express the magnitude, power and depth of the human spirit through my art is one of my passions. Our inner world, so deep, so complex and mysterious finds its voice through my abstract work. This nearly 10 foot x nearly 18 foot painting is a mere human's attempt to describe in artistic language the essence of the human spirit, the 'divine spark'. There is such a powerful presence within the human heart that it compels me to express visually what I perceive it to be. With vibrant color, lines, textures and rhythms, the ordered chaos of my work expresses the throbbing and pulsating ceaseless processing of the human spirit. What color, what image, what composition can adequately illustrate this mystery? Who knows, all I can do is open my heart and let go, let God and I paint. This painting has powerful lines that stretch fully across the huge canvas. My brushless 'drip & splash' technique allows me to build complex layers of power packed lines that build intricate layers of textures and colorful shapes. Being able to paint such animated lines on this scale makes this work so powerful. It carries the energy and passion of a pencil sketch but on a gigantic scale. As much as I love well ordered, designed and manicured natural arrangements, I find the wild and unplanned wildflowers and ‘chaotic’ scenery captures my heart. It is the spectacular seasons I experience up here in New York than keep me captive and prisoner to their schedule and rhythm.
