" Ezekiel " Print

I would assume that most people have a cursory knowledge of the old testament. Adam, Eve, Moses, The Israelites.......yatta, yatta,yatta. It baffles me though, how our generation can watch an endless array of shows about zombies, and vampires, yet not know the first thing about an old testament prophet like Ezekiel. If you are unfamiliar with his story, his vision, do yourself a favor and at the very least google the story. Some have even said, this was the first time man was treated to a visit from beings from another planet. Who can say? For this painting, however, I did do my research on ancient Hebrew. It was long ago, but I believe it is called, Phoenician. Around, twenty something versions of Hebrew, ago, and the stuff looks like one would think Martian writing would look like. The entire painting is littered with the stuff, aside from other elements of the story, and other symbols of superstition. As I am familiar with modern Hebrew, I translated passages and placed them in the composition in appropriate places. For the most part,they are mostly blessings. But, I will tell you, that the Hebrew name for G-D, is in there somewhere, as well. The original is around three by four feet, and is done in oils.
