FLUX XIII Painting

i'm an introvert. i've always been a doodler and my art style FLUX arose from my doodling. Artists who've influenced my work are Picasso, Pollack, Crumb, Miro; Others being Carl Jung and David Bohm. One of my goals is producing art in an objective manner, unencumbered by subjectivity. This is expressionism. i do not use the drip or splatter methods. All my paint stokes are applied individually with a fine bristled brush. If i add a ‘splatter’ or “swirl”, i refer to it as an “eddy”. i use a Sharpie fine pointed pen to outline each shape when paint is dry. Once finished applying ink i apply a thin coat of polyurethane. Paper napkins provide ridges, ripples, and gullies, and the polyurethane coat catches light and provides for glistening, all of which adds to movement and liveliness, in my opinion. It takes me about a month to complete a piece. i work from 8 to 12 hours a day on art, though i break the day up, and i skip some days.
