About The Artwork

Fragment of Time No 7 is a deconstructed colorfield: expressive on small canvas. This work is minimalist. Many structures and glazes make the appeal. Scratches and traces of time, the beauty of the past, melancholic and yet positive. Shabby, used look with a mystic atmosphere of gold in turquoise. Depending on the light, the painting always looks different: Shimmering and luminous or reserved and calm. „Maybe with my art you can have a new view of things and see the beauty in everyday things and in small details.” This series has been created for a joint exhibition. Together with a Berlin photographer and two artists' colleagues from Hanover, exciting works have emerged, which in many ways reflect an abandoned place in Germany Brandenburg. It is ready to hang, edges are painted in black. ******************************************************************************* Please note: Room setting is for illustration only and is not exactly to scale. Stefanie Rogge is an artist and graphic designer from Germany. She completed her artistic education in Hanover. In addition to abstract works, she is also painting figurative works. The abstract large-format paintings are mostly inspired by the seascape, the light, the colors and the rough cliff landscape. She also likes to use collage techniques that contain materials such as linen and corrugated cardboard. With layers and glazes she works out the charm of these lands. Her figurative series are also expressive and impulsive. It often has socially critical issues in the beginning, such in the series "Cows coded" which criticizes how animals in our consumer society are treated as commercial goods. Or in the current series "One of the big five", which has the big game hunting and poaching on the subject, which threatens many species extinction. „Pure imaging of the models is not my interest, there are always also feelings transported. My style is abstract, informal, expressive painting on large canvas. Often I use acrylic, chalk, charcoal which I worked in the paintings. Also I like to collaged works with corrugated board, cotton and burlap. I wish my art could make one see a new view of things and help to see the beauty in everyday things, in small details and in the power of nature. But in my art I also want to critically highlight social themes. My series „Cows coded” criticized the handling of the animals as commercial goods.”
