ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My parents raised my sisters and me in a small Colombian city called Chocó Antioqueño. A city that in the colonial era, was the refuge of many African slaves who escaped from settlements of slaves. I have the memories of my first years living with this African culture in lands that they did not belong to, I have the memories of the children who once ran with me and never saw them again.
