Face Painting

Born 1957 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany Since 1986 Visual Artist, now working in Bulgaria After graduating in 1976, I began my vocational training as an actor and after completing my studies 1979 in Bochum (Germany) it was not enough for me. I am varied interested and followed in 1980 a medical education in Berlin, followed by socio- educational training and several years as a Foster father for children in a private kindergarten in Berlin-Kreuzberg. But it kept me pushing in my life, so I found 1986 as a self-taught painting. The 1980s in Berlin were captured by a creative departure in which art, fashion and music reinvented themselves I was carried away by this creative pull and soon I was a co-designer of this Artistik scene and of the zeitgeist. In the style of the "Neuen Wilden", which was emphasized by expressive painting, I also found this meaning of expression. With the large-scale, gestural painting I responded to the flood of images and new body cults that constantly challenged the young city dwellers. Other Painter colleagues developed their painting style at the Art Academy. Me however reject the academic path for art! For me, the art is free. I am always on the lookout for my own topics and their expressions. Successful exhibitions and positive reviews in the media made my vocation as a profession. Since 1989 I am a member of the collecting society VG BILD-KUNST. The exploration of the being, of the world around us forces me to break through barriers and destroy the superficial. As I try to bring the sensual and profound through my pictures to light. For 30 years, I have remained true to my vocation! Many of my paintings have found their place in numerous private and public collections over the years. At the end of 2013 I exchanged my Berlin cosmopolitan domicile for a house in a small Bulgarian village. This give me completely new areas of friction where I can further develop my artistic work.
