About The Artwork

The breeze, the gentle wind at the sea that takes, turns, caresses the colors. The brushstrokes of bright colors combined with bold gestures create natural shapes that float in the air.

Born and educated in Hungary, but lives and works in Italy, in Bassano del Grappa. Beata Kozak, who has lived in Italy for more than 20 years after completing her academic training in Hungary, found herself torn between different cultures, but this cultural diversity has allowed her to turn all this into virtue. My artistic research focuses on the theme of landscape, external landscape and internal landscape. For me, painting does not mean imitating reality, but it also means dealing with the pictorial material and interpreting it and transforming it into colors and shapes to then open the mind for new sensations. The fluid material that I apply in my works allows me to build lyrical landscapes where I try to recover that ancient connection that binds man to nature. Starting from a profound search for the self - which is indispensable for my works as well as the poetic and literary texts that my works often feed on - I explore the ductility of water, the places of memory, the different angles of reality, creating timeless reflections, without space, and where the gaze is lost in the silence of listening to one's own self. Creation is a long process, and sometimes it takes a long time to give the right shape to that thing that is about to be born, and also for this reason that in my works I experiment with different technical approaches, which can vary by subject. Sometimes I prefer liquid, transparent forms that seem almost watercolors for their lightness and for their non-corporeality on the canvas, sometimes instead to express a dynamic movement and immediate use of interwoven brushstrokes. In my recent artistic research, on the other hand, I paint by superimposing different densities of layers of color and medium that subsequently react with each other by modeling the surface, and creating an unprecedented dimension of texture.I am a courageous experimenter who loves to explore emotions, new waters, and new paths ... I love things that don't take me far, but take me deep. Mine is an incessant desire to rediscover of Beauty, and emotions.
