Fanna Painting

In a number of languages, Fanna means destruction of the self, sometimes through love, Fanna seemed like a well suited name for such a canvas as this was the final canvas made for my exhibition Inattention, The exhibition was curated in such a way that the human form appeared to dematerialise thought out. In some of my work before I have mixed paint and sculptural materials to produce 3-d objects. But ony a few paintings earlier had I turned this around to use the expanding foam on the canvas to create a bubbling of the surface and another element of fluidity to the canvas. Fanna was the last canvas and an end to the exhibition. Therefore the one that had to be made using two different types of foam and made to be a dark merge of media. enhanced with the permanence of Indian ink, combined with the cracked paint layer, this piece looks at permanence and temporarily of the Self. Comes lacquered, sealed at the back and mirror plated.
