Art Description

Painting: Plaster, Marble, Paint on Wood.

Favela Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro. 24”x 24”. Abstract Expressionism.
One of the cities that inspires me the most is Rio de Janeiro.

This painting is made out of Colored Venetian Plaster on wood Panel.
I carved the fresh plaster and filled the empty spaces with other layers of plaster, and so on until I get the graphism I wanted. Then, I polish it in order to give this special shine resulting from the marble added in the plaster. The painting is framed with a simple black trim to emphasize the light. The surface is very smooth and polished.

The “Favela” collection was inspired from my long stays in Rio.
"Favela" means shantytown in Portuguese. From within this extreme poverty, riches and treasures emerge.

It is wired, ready to hang on the wall.
The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The painting is shipped flat in a wood crate
