Art Description

Painting: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor on Canvas, Paper.

Acrylic, oil and watercolor on paper, canvas and linen hand woven and mounted on paper.

Signed and dated in pencil on the front. Unframed.

In 2007 the artist began removing her prior artworks from theri frames and forming them into hanging installations and sculptures. This often involved cutting and trimming the pieces during the process and those scraps were saved until 2010 when she began to re-look at those fragments of past artworks.

In 2010 these were then woven into a series of worked titled after various "artsy" communities and were primarily neutral in tone. By the time 2013 came around, the artist after having worked in primarily all earth tones for over a decade decided it was time to embrace color. These "feeling" works were created then, each sub-titled after an emotion the artist was feeling when embrasing that color. It was a transitional period for the artist as she navigated this new challenge in her work.
