Feverfew Painting

Starting out as collages, I pasted pieces of old drawings on paper down on the larger whole. I then created new drawings on top of both the surfaces echoing elements from the old drawings onto the blank areas. Using language, intuitive mark-making, and grid structures, I composed the pieces. I then used acrylic paints, chalk, and colored pencils to create a new relationship between all the mark-making. The series is called “Patchwork” as it illuminates the idea of creating relationships with various intentions of marks and surfaces to create a larger whole.
