Two genres that rarely overlap, the fight scene floral is a (seriously) playful series of paintings that reflect on collisions in our societal structure and the desire to want to cover over the messy bits. The work explores both the whole and its brokenness, and how the two may exist simultaneously. Drawing on metaphors of annihilation and awakening, collapse and germination, ravaged terrains and the preeminence of nature the work attempts to call forth the need to question our assumptions and perhaps to embrace our own contradictions and confusion in a less judgmental, more curious manner.
