Flames in the Mist Painting

Here's a little beauty from my new series for 2017 which is called "The Wisdom of Winter." These paintings are soft, subtle shades of neutrals, with special emphasis on composition, line and color. All are 24" x 18" inches (60.96 cm x 45.72 cm) and are acrylics on sturdy, 140# watercolor paper that has been primed with top quality, thick & creamy gesso. All paintings are 100% original and made by me with quality materials including Golden, Liquitex and Windsor-Newton acrylic paints; conte pencils; charcoal; graphite; gesso; and gel mediums. Each painting is finished with an additional 2 coats of protective UV varnish in a satin finish. The style of this painting is called "Abstract Expressive" and can be hung vertically or horizontally which gives you much more flexibility in your decorating options. I've signed this painting on the back so you can choose the orientation you like best without being restricted by my signature. This particular painting has a very fine "mist" of pewter-colored gouache which gives the finished piece a metallic look and added depth.
