My art is an intimate reflection of my lived experience, a visual chronicle of navigating the complexities of mental illness, trauma, and the enduring pursuit of healing. As someone living with Bipolar I disorder, CPTSD, anxiety, and ADHD, my inner world is often a whirlwind of intense emotions and fragmented memories. Art becomes my sanctuary, a space to process these experiences and translate them into a language that transcends words. Working primarily with acrylics, I embrace the fluidity and versatility of the medium, allowing it to mirror the ever-shifting currents of my inner landscape. Brushes and palette knives become tools of emotional expression, layering vibrant hues and textures to create a symphony of visual sensations. I often incorporate elements like resin coating and gold leaf, adding depth and symbolism to further engage the viewer. My creative process is intuitive and cathartic. I rarely plan a piece in advance, preferring to approach the blank canvas with an open mind and allow my emotions to guide my hand. It's a dance between control and surrender, a delicate balance between intention and spontaneity. Through my art, I strive to create a space for dialogue about the often-hidden struggles of mental health and the enduring power of the human spirit.
