This is a series of work based on dreams. The medium is encaustic and my photographs which are printed on silk. I chose these mediums because of their diaphanous quality.. It is a composited image on silk and then painted with several coats of encaustic medium and pigment. It is a part of a series about dreams, called 'If these walls could talk'.
I have a fascination with walls and old dresses. It is on a cradled birch panel and ready to hang.

Patricia Leeds is a multi-disciplinary artist. She works with encaustic: paintings with pigmented bee’s wax on paper and on wood panels, creating marks and abstract figures. She also creates digital paintings and works with oil painting as well. Her work has won international and national awards. Encaustic is one of the oldest forms of painting, where beeswax, resin, and pigment are layered and fused to produce a luminous surface that captures and transforms light. Her encaustic on paper work starts by painting with pigmented bee’s wax and encaustic medium using a heated palette. She then lays a piece of archival art paper on the palette. The wax soaks into the paper transferring the image. She repeats this process, adding layer upon layer until she is pleased with the result. The exact design and thickness of wax can never be repeated, rendering a one of a kind painting. Her digital paintings are created by compositing multiple photographs. She adds various effects and layers using a mix of applications. The finished image is printed on archival museum quality paper. and is hand signed on the back. These prints are all limited editions. She teaches classes in iPnoneography and has won numerous awards. She also works with oil paints and collaged medium Artist statement: My work represents my internal life. I am continually striving to understand the human condition. I usually work in a series where a theme is present. Depending upon the concept I will choose a medium that works with the idea.
