Art Description

Painting: Oil, Ink, champagne on Canvas.

This painting was made with sparkling wine, which I mixed with pigment in order to create my own form of paint. I used oil paint in additional layers. It is part of a series for a solo exhibition I recently had in Paris entitled "A propos des bulles : un exposition de la peinture et du champagne" ("About Bubbles: an exhibition of painting and champagne"). The pieces were all inspired by the writings of champagne scientist Gerard Liger-Belair and the famous French philosopher Michel Onfray. They were also inspired by my collaborations with scientists in the Fluid Dynamics Lab at Boston University, photographing microscopic bubbles for their research.
