Flower (Kizami-e) Painting

“Kizami-e”, unique two-dimensional woodcut art created by Hakuseki Iwai nails the viewer. 
"Woman," "Sitting person," "Mother and child," etc., are drawn by carving lines over and over again to express their "existence,", and life is breathed in. When you listen, you may hear their inner voice from deep inside. Hakuseki Iwai is a seal engraver and western painter. He studied calligraphy and seal engraving, and mastered the Qin Han seal. One of his work "Sanka Suicho Kaichiki” is collected by British Museum. Also in oil painting, he won numerous awards in art contests and has been selected as a member of “Kokuga” art group. Fusing inherited engraving techniques with contemporary art, he found his own style “Kizami-e” on Katsura-tree. Instead of drawing narrativity and human emotions, he focuses on how to express the existence of “things” that have received life in this world, such as "humans" and "flowers" and "mountains" seen around us and how they can be fixed on the screen. There are people there. There is a person sitting there. That will be an art. It can still be simple by getting rid of all unnecessary things.
