born in Leningrad. Vasily Korolev – painter, at the heart of creativity which is the aesthetics of non-conformism, expressed in the works by presenting unusual shapes, resembling sometimes, unsophisticated children's drawings. Fluent in the techniques of classical academic painting, the artist, however, prefers to build its dialogue with the audience by means of other images that reflect the author's attention to the entire infinite diversity of manifestations of the human psyche. Continuing the tradition of non-conformism, in works V. Korolev clearly read deep conversation of the artist with his inner self, manifested in a beautiful display of a vague sensation of contact with the phenomena of reality, referring to the details of the abyssal spiritual life. The artist's metaphorical, somewhat irrational, but they feel the author's idea, which by Association gives meaning, or hint of it, each picture image. Perhaps it is the search for individual artistic language of the young artist, however, the use of methods and approaches non-conformist currents, suggests that V. Korolev has the creative courage to be yourself. Alexander belicka, art historian
