Giorgi Shamanauri was born in 1981 in Tbilisi. He studied in Z. Paliashvili Music School with N. Kobulashvili and Tbilisi State Conservatory. After finishing his master s studies in Georgia, he continued his studies in Cologne Music School with Prof. Urban Agnas and graduated in 2009. He was a principal trumpet in Tbilisi State Opera Orchestra from 1999 till 2002, in 2002 he joined Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, in 2012 he joined Georgian Philharmonic, where he works till now as a principal trumpet. Giorgi is a winner of several national competitions, amoung those is Francois Leleux wind instrument competition 2002. In 2005 George founded brass instrument ensemble "Georgian Brass",since 2012 the ensemble is called Georgian State brass ensemble "Georgian Brass", under "Mikeladze Center for Performing Arts" In 2006 George was invited on an international festival of post-soviet countries in Almaty. He is a solo player and is in partnership with such symphonic orchestras as: Georgian Sinfonietta, Tbilisi State Opera Orchestra, Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra, Qutaisi Symphony Orchestra. Since 2011 he is a teacher in musical school no.6. He teaches also in Chiatura winter academy. He is one of the founders of the "Young Georgian Musicians Association" George has organized several projects and concerts. He is a scholarship holder of Georgian President, Lev Markiz, Oscar and Vera Ritter and DAAD. Giorgi received master classes from Guido Segers,Frits Damrow, Theo Wolters, Hannes Laubin and Urban Agnas. In 2004 he performed Barber Capricorn Concerto with Benoit Fromanger and Francois Leleux and in 2009 he played Shostakovich Piano Conerto with Alexander Korstantia and Georgian Sinfonietta in Konzerthaus Berlin. Giorgi is a member of "georgian Brass" ansmble and regularly performes in Georgia.
