About The Artwork

Turning the crosswind of runway 12 of the LFBR airfield. We do the turn at 500 ft above the field. The city of Toulouse is 15nm to the left of the airfield. This is the airfield of the town of Muret: the hometown of the man who was first in the world to succeed making a motorised airplane(with a steam engine!) lift off the ground for a few yards in 1890. His name is Clement Ader. Apparently his engine was pretty efficient even to today's standards, however the feather-shaped propeller was not. Oil painting on canvas, on panel.
