ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have always folded paper cranes as a self-soothing mechanism for anxiety, I find the lines and geometrical dimensions of them to be comforting. By illustrating them using watercolor, a medium I find to require calm, I created something pleasing to the eye to illicit no negative emotion or concern- the colors are not jarring but easy to see, the lines are relaxed yet defined, and the cranes themselves lie in an organized disorder. This is done on three separate 7x10in papers, and can be removed from the hardboard to be placed in any way one may desire, or framed separately.

My first exposure to art was through my grandfather, Joseph Lloyd Cox III, who traveled Europe painting and was an art professor for Miami University. I went to a pre-professional arts high school for dance, then got into college for aerospace engineering.
