Forbidden Fruit Painting

This large minimalist painting is part of a series called Queer Fruit. Highlighting a moment of desire and ecstasy, you can feel the subtle nuance of gesture, facial expression, and texture. My Queer Fruits search for the grey area between commonly accepted binaries such as masculine/feminine, dominant/submissive, gay/straight, pure/dirty, normal/aberrant. The texture is varied with a mix of drawing and painting mediums. The background is a thick glossy white that contrasts with the matte white of the sheet the woman is wrapped up in. It is a large stretched canvas with sturdy 1.75" thick stretcher bars. It includes 2 heavy duty D-rings and a hanging wire on the back. No frame necessary; it can easily hang directly on your wall.
