Forest Giants Painting

A walk in the forest is always a feast for the eyes; a riot of line, tone, colour and texture. There are many different viewpoints, looking up, down, through the trees, or zooming in to particular branches. This piece celebrates the majesty of the humble Beech tree, standing tall and proud, extending far beyond a close-up view. Tea bags are an exciting surface for illustration and colour, as they absorb dye and paint easily, creating rich tones by the added stains of tea. The texture resembles that of fabric, or high quality hand-made paper. The image was drawn onto dyed tea bags with ink, then more colour added to selected parts. This piece is one of three paintings. It is unframed, allowing for personal preference of mount, frame, colour and size.
