Painting: Oil, Acrylic on Canvas.
Paintings from the Forest series continues on my previous cycle of „Mountains“, in which the main motive was the panoramic view of mountains and forests. In the Forest series, I am approaching the mountain, "zooming" a certain detail and dedicating myself to specific plants. Each painting is created in three stages; after the acrylic layer, I painted over the entire canvas with an oil layer ten tones lighter than the photographic template. Then I applied the darkest layer and scratched the surface of the painting, drawing and engraving shapes. By using the scratching tools in different thickness, the effect painting gains attests to different image experiences, depending on the distance from it. If we look closely at the picture, we notice a multitude of expressive lines and dots, almost an abstract surface engraved in a thick paint application. But by moving away from the picture, it gets realistic features.
