Painting: Acrylic, Paper on Canvas.
This 2016 painting is part of the Fragments series and summarizes the spirit of the project: Contemporary traces of memory.
As well as to use painted collage with spontaneous bruswork and newspapers glued on the canvas as in other works of the collection, I have added letters made in a particular calligraphy announcing the title of the set of paintings: Fragments.
I have wanted to do with this work an anteroom of what the viewer will find in the project, including the mix of aqueous acrylic creating drips derived from action painting with a more compacted paint which forms gestural brushstrokes in an expressionist way; the disjointed scenes as pieces scattered in space; and the leitmotif of my memories through my photographs, drawings and the cuttings I have been finding during my life.
This work is signed and dated on the front.
The painting is unframed and it is shipped streched in an extra strong cardboard box.
