ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In the summer of 2011 I had the opportunity to explore the beautiful country of Italy. On our trip I had a chance to visit the awe inspiring city of Florence. Like most Italian cities, Florence breathes art through all of it's pores. World famous statues litter the street and it seems like every inch of the city is covered with delicate carvings and elaborate decorations. Even the light in this city seems of a higher quality somehow. We only spent two short days in the city, I fell like I only scratched the surface, but I left Florence with over 300 photographs and some of the most dramatic shadows I'd ever shot. This mixed media painting on wood is created using a combination of image transfer and acrylic paints and mediums together with textured papers. The artwork comes with a wire on the back for hanging, it is signed on the front and has title, date, artist name and a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist on the back. Be advised that colors and brightness depend on your monitor and the digital picture may be slightly different from the original work of art.

Leaving the Netherlands was a breeze. Japan didn’t scare me, America didn’t intimidate and Canada is as easy-going as it gets. The thing that frightens me, is creating Art. For the longest time, I believed I was the master of my craft. I strode into my studio with confidence to create bodies of work like Traveling the World and World on Washi. In my bubble, I reigned supreme. Then, one day I realized that the spaces I thought I controlled were fortified by the perceived expectations of the people around me. Their silent influence spawned countless rules, suffocating the artist within. It dawned on me—I shouldn't be making the rules at all. I have been creating Art for a decade and a half, and right now my studio in Canada is the most terrifying and exhilarating place to be. Inside, the Art decides the destination, where it leads I will follow. An old man once told me: “It’s dangerous to go alone!” So, will you join me on this quest? Together we will explore ‘Unveiling’ a boundless realm of vibrant hues and delicate textures. Step into my world, explore my art and meet the versions of myself I once knew.
