Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.

This painting is an experiment with differing amounts of yellow ochre, pthalo gold and titanium white. The large, rhythmic shapes overlap randomly, resulting in unplanned secondary and tertiary shapes. The tiny, nearly white shapes that extend over into the white gesso ground are visually surprising, yet calming. This exercise is inspired by the color theories of Joseph Albers.
