About The Artwork
I have always been drawn to the painting 'Brown spots' (basquiat) his painting of Andy Warhol as a banana. With this work firmly in my mind, I came to this idea in 2011 as my son was in cub-scouts; Sitting in a pack meeting staring at the Neckerchief the fleur-de-lis reminded me of a banana, so I first made a metal sculpture of the concept and later a number of paintings.
