ABOUT THE ARTWORK
living in Botswana, where hippos are prevelant, they are so chunky and characterful that the artist has always wanted to depict them. This particular one seemed very cross, and it was a male, and so hence the title. The broad expanse of stomach was a pleasure to paint, as was the solid mass of this sturdy, beautiful animal.
