About The Artwork
The beauty and mystery of the Archetypal Black Cat has always fascinated me. Sadly, black cats are discriminated against and are often the last to get adopted from rescues and shelters due to absurd human superstitious beliefs. As an artist and cat lover, I believe black cats (and other animals too!) have a greater purpose than just their 9 lives here on Earth. When these majestic black cats are done with their journey here, they will find their way to a kinder place somewhere in our vast galaxy. It is there the black cats will be granted the unbiased freedom to recuperate from the challenges presented by our distorted society. My intention as an artist is to create artwork that inspires and nurtures the human spirit by helping to restore beauty and optimism to a rapidly changing world. This painting is done with oils on canvas.
