Kate Slowey is a self-taught artist based in Sydney. She has always used creation as a means of expression. What is expressed varies from the personal to the universal. Her style of creation, however, is an evolving constant. Within a short space of time, Kate has created a figurative body of work characterised by one line studies of faces and forms – seeking expression of their emotion and the moments to which they are a part. Exhibiting for the first time in 2022 at one of Sydney’s three annual art fairs, she was one of the highest selling artists and her works were acquired and placed in private collections nationally and internationally. She continued this trend after exhibiting again at the same art fair in 2023. Since then, her work has been selected by chief curator of the world's leading online gallery for inclusion in a collection and published in a leading Australian art and interior design magazine.
