About The Artwork

The "Geo" series- Explores the "Architecture of the Imagination" "Geo 2" was exhibited at Baker Museum in Naples, Fl. & Jankossen Gallery in New York City. Geo 2 strikes a delicate balance, dynamic tension and integration of "cool" geometric forms accentuated by "warm" evocative colors. Dual hemispheres are united by a bold central geometric element. The precise placement of geometrics evokes a sense of movement (freedom) and stability (control) among contrasting (yin/yang) hemispheres. Clean lines bring the composition into pristine focus. "The large-scale oil paintings in the GEO series reveal a rich and riveting vision of abstraction," said New York art critic Ronny Cohen. "Atsuko's sophisticated understanding of color & form are expressed in the dynamic compositions she creates. Through exquisit interrelationships of structures, shapes & hues, her vivid sensations of elements in movement & their suspension in space speak directly to the imagination."
