About The Artwork

What can one say about "Gertie"? She's adorable. "Gertie the Goat" is part of a series. This is #1 in the series. Gertie the Goat was inspired by the Victorian portraits of stuffy old ladies in the museums. When I look at them, I admire the artwork, but am curious about why these "ladies" have portraits painted of them. Why is a cute goat not the subject of a formal portrait? So, I went and painted a portrait of a goat and named her Gertie. Her smile is a bit Mona-Lisa-ish. No? The frame takes the formal portrait to the next level. She's always a conversation starter.

Rami Dalal is a self-taught artist who has mastered several fine art media. His artistic skills were handed down from his mother and grandfather. His mother is a recognized artist, born in Jerusalem, Palestine where she trained in a French Catholic School. Her training was initiated by her father who is also an accomplished artist and sculptor whose works are featured in holy sites in Jerusalem, including the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. He was born in Palestine in 1893. Rami's creative and artistic outlets were developed since his early years through exposure to fine art works in his family environment and through his schooling and church. He chose to develop his creative and artistic abilities via technology marketing and product marketing of iconic American brands that he developed and managed for global companies. His formal education earned him honors in his studies of Consumer Economics and Marketing, which then led to his pursuit of a PhD in Consumer Law. Upon realizing his missed passion for marketing, he began his career as a product marketing professional, where he mastered his partner marketing, product development, communications, and technology innovation and marketing skills for leading global companies and brands. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to founding his own companies in 2015. Ask Rami Dalal about a TV advertising jingle from a major brand in 1978, and he is likely to sing it for you with all the words. Starting from a young age, he realized his talents and passion for marketing and its associated disciplines. Throughout his professional ventures, Rami created an average of 1 painting per year. His works have very personal meanings and are driven by his personal passions for various subject matter. His preferred medium is oil painting. He has the creative vision, attention to detail, and patience to produce lasting works, despite the time investment. Rami's art is inspired and motivated by subject matter that evokes emotion in the artist. He finds beauty in various themes. A review of his portfolio will reveal themes including religious icons, natural beauty, and portraits of loved ones, to name a few. One of his favorite lines from his favorite movie, "The Color Purple" is "I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it.". He agrees that everything in the world just wants to be noticed and loved.
