Fall inspired, yellow leaves falling from an ancient tree. This tall oil on linen painting is inspired by a chance meeting between me and a very old Ginkgo tree in the magical moment she was losing her leaves... Custom built stretcher Fall Ginkgo Tree Oh the glorious Ginkgo biloba tree or Maidenhair tree if you prefer A native to Asia the breed is now grown all over the world adored for its beauty and medicinal properties Believed to be in existence for 250 million years! the tree is either male or female the boy tree produces pollen cones the girl trees do not this Wise Tree loses its leaves all at the same time! or at least within a few days each fall Embrace Change, I whisper to myself The act is a speedy/slow motion experience you might say once in a blue moon you might say catching spontaneity you might say mother nature caught in the act Fall, Santo Spirito Church Cloister, Florence, Italy Showering yellow leaves fall down upon my head a golden, glittering morning dew blessed single leaf brushes my cheek and lands on my big toe... leaning to collect this gift I step over an invisible line one man installed a sweet smiling security guard leads me away from the tree…no walking on the cloister grass "per favore Signora" he impresses firmly with his eyes and gentle touch upon my elbow distracted by the showering I nod my understanding amazing I breathe out "thank you", I say aloud to the tree the guard still eyeing me replies "prego, Signora"

Stacy Gibboni’s studio has been based in Venice Italy for over twenty years. Gibboniʼs works are held in private and corporate collections Internationally and have been exhibited on three continents to date. The Artists thoughts on creating .... Painting is a process evolving from a collection of life’s many magical moments. From each turn of the page, word uttered, blink and wink an individuals iconography is woven. My alphabet is conjured from long walks around a floating city, through the woods, gardens and sandy shores of memory always gazing abroad towards tomorrow. This personal vocabulary speaks through painted leaves and trees, seated upon lonely chairs, observed from abandoned cars and houses as the wheel turns and the Sun continues to chase the Moon. All the while, a holistically intuitive process striving to evoke an aesthetic conversation on the necessity of joy.
