Glaucus and Scylla Painting

Glaucus and Scylla ( 50''x 50" Oil on Masonite) Inspired by the great tale form Ovid`s metamorphoses "Glaucus and Scylla" When I painted it, I aimed to explore the basic tragic emotion of the tale, with an minimalist approach on the both the personas of Glaucus as (the rock) and Scylla as (the ocean) this piece represents the tragedy of this piece of literature. Where in non-literal therms of imagery, sometimes even abstract, one who sees it as the story setting, could search for the characters and plot, looking for reasoning on such aspects trying to find the protagonists on the landscape. Foremost, one who is not aware of the story, is embraced with the same tragic feeling,bringing the same basic experience of the tale.
