Painting: Acrylic on Wood.
These style of works are based on our interaction with urban space. The paintings are made with a view to representing a simplified city scape. The surface is 3D and the raised elements act like buildings and other man made structures upon which the paint has to flow around to make its way from one side to the other. In a similar manor to how we manoeuvre around a built up area.
This particular piece has a varied landscape. Of which each section is a different colour and actually each separate pieces of wood. It is joined together though so would arrive as one piece.
The base of the painting is meticulously sanded and sprayed to give a very smooth, flat surface finish. Which the dripped paint flows over.
It has a split baton hanging system which ensures its completely flat and secured to the wall.
