Neighborhood Painting

Rebecca Silus is an artist whose work explores time, place, and memory. Her paintings often depict abstract landscapes that are a combination of physical and virtual places. She is interested in relationships between the natural and built environments as well as places that are in transition in the way they are used and thought about. The process of making her work involves collecting imagery from a number of sources including her own drawings and photographs as well as images she finds on the Internet, in advertisements, movies, and historical archives.
