The works insist on the ambiguity of meaning. Marieke grew up in a very artistic, creative environment. Her father was an architect who also made paintings and statues. He taught her, from a really young age, how to look at things, to draw, design, built huts, make furniture and arty stuff. Her mother was a musician and also very creative. She taught Marieke how to listen and love music and how to play music. Marieke Oudejans' paintings are in many private collections.
