About The Artwork

One of my works of the year. Painted outdoors in the woods over a period of more than 12 month it is a co-production of myself as an artist, my surrounding nature—rain and wind, algae and moss, animals and insects—and time. So special, so exhausting, I probably won't be able to do so again. To me, the panel is a new strand of my artistic research towards an artistic way of gaining experience and knowledge about fields usually associated with science. What is art able to contribute to the necessity of finding a balance between humanity and its violated living environment? The strong presence of the artwork results from an artistic process in and with nature— and against it, too. The works support is medium density fiberboard (MDF) exposed to the open for 12 month, by this heavy—and heavily treated by nature, warped, rims pulped broke. It is signed "Alexis", my pseudonym for the künstlernatur-series from the Greek word for helper or defender. Guardian Angel Landing in Anthropocene is treated properly to be sold and presented indoors—backside sanded with a throw of light grey gesso, front varnished.

Christian Kabuß is an internationally established German artist and musician. He studied Medicine at the University of Rostock, then went on to Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee, Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia and Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design Budapest to practice Fine Art. The artistic language within his paintings is deeply linked to a phenomenological approach to bodiliness, the freedom of subconscious artistic creation, and the theoretical and practical considerations of Design. Kabuß has exhibited in Germany and abroad. His works are present in regional, national and international collections. It is his aim to work as honest as possible, and he tends towards imagery, which is embedded in Lebenswelt, and sound. As a pianist, he performs small intimate concerts. His music is soft, sometimes freely improvised and portrays a sense of a parallel-world. Exhibitions in Italy, Sweden, Germany, China, and Japan.
