Gulf Stream Painting

"Gulf Stream" is a 24x36 canvas painting made with the colors Thai Teal, Native Turquoise, Copper metallic, Pearl Metallic, Cobalt Blue, and Cobalt Blue Metallic. This gorgeous piece of artwork is one of my most favorite creations. I feel that this piece an ocean current particularly where rivers flow into the sea. This was intended to be an ocean themed painting, and the technique of acrylic painting that i used was acrylic pouring. I used a flip cup technique where i poured the paint colors i used into a cup, and then put the cup upside down onto the canvas and then released the cup by pulling up and allowing the paint to flow onto the canvas. The order i poured the paint in was crucial, as i wanted my cobalt blue metallic to be the dominant color seen in the painting. I also used a ribbon pour technique for a more ribbon effect on the canvas so i did the pouring technique in the colors i wanted, but randomly pouring the paint onto the canvas to where i felt it should go.
