ABOUT THE ARTWORK

How can you not love gum nuts, such an iconic Australian tree and so many different varieties, an endless source of inspiration and a joy to paint, large scale they look even more spectacular, the blue grey leaves with those bright red blooms make the artwork come alive. Finding these on my daily dog walks inspired me to create this painting. It would look fabulous in a classic or contemporary setting as a standout conversation piece. I want this artwork to bring joy everyday and the appreciation of the beauty of nature. Working with oils adds such a richness to the painting. Gallery stretched canvas on a wood frame and ready to hang with wire. Signed on the front with my nickname Woo.

I was born and raised in London, but in 2004, my husband and I made the life-changing move to Australia. My artistic path is an unconventional one, as I am entirely self-taught and only discovered my true calling as a fine artist later in life. Throughout my life, I've always been closely connected to the creative world, having owned a women's clothing business, restored historic homes, and, most recently, worked as a cosmetic tattoo artist. My artistic journey has been a meandering one, each bringing me closer to my authentic purpose. After years of running a thriving cosmetic tattoo business, I found myself yearning for a hiatus. It was during this transformative period in 2019 that I rekindled my love for nature and its remarkable healing abilities. This was also the moment I picked up a paintbrush for the first time since leaving school. Through my art, I endeavour to capture the essence of organic forms, intricate textures, and the delicate beauty of the natural world. I draw inspiration from the interplay of light with colour and depth, constantly experimenting with different artistic mediums to create evocative and emotionally resonant pieces. Whether I'm working in a realistic style or exploring the world of abstract art with a focus on texture, my work reflects my deep passion for nature and my aspiration to promote positivity, well-being, and vitality. With each piece, my aim is to bring the beauty and magic of our world into people's homes, instilling a sense of joy and significance in the lives of those who engage with my art.
