HQU 16 (Headquarter) Painting

This is a medium-format egg tempera painting built up in many layers. The result is a structured, lively surface. The work is from the Identities group. The shape of the head reveals a number of different faces after a longer look. Heads like fingerprints. No portraits, but codes of emotions, prints outside the contours, scans from the zones between the facial features. Abstractions using colors, pigment structures, surfaces and reliefs. No physiognomic realities, instead head codes, identity prints from the areas between the foreign and the familiar... In my work I fuse oil and tempera into a semi-abstract composition that radiates dynamism and energy. The central, oval shape in vibrant red, surrounded by a calm, textured yellow, reflects a core of passion and energy, surrounded by a field of calm and reflection.
