ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Many things make us feel alone in a crowd. Perhaps social or cultural differences, neuro-divergence, trauma. The feeling of difference and otherness is in itself traumatic. We live life hanging by a single thread when everyone else seems so effortlessly secure. The young nameless girl is another recurring character in my art, often appearing with a sense of transparency and ghostliness, as if merely a projection into one world from another. My work is heavily influenced by my children and their use of imagination as language.

When read back they either sound far too self deprecatory or self aggrandising. There is no middle ground to be found. The imagination of my children, the nature present in this plane of existence, and infinite imaginary worlds and the places in-between are all my muses. Creativity is not bounded by age or ability. One thing I have learned from MANY others and my own experience is that finding ways to express ourselves creatively is essential to the health of our souls.
