Happy Mother's Day, MOTHER!
Collection: Artist's Agony

The connections and relationships we have with our mothers make us who we are. Some of these relationships are filled with love and some with anger and despair. Others can relate to both. The admiration for our mothers helped us often overcome the mistakes they did, and that has affected us while growing up. In an attempt to honor one of our mothers with painting her, the ambivalence and inner war, we fight in our head displayed clearly, since the artwork was on the verge of being thrown away. It, in fact, shows both sides of the relationship. The memories of warmth and love and the anger that would come up feeling left alone.

Collection: Artist's Agony
As artists, we struggle in all the different stadiums of creating art. The struggle is good because only then something of a strong impact eventually reviles itself. In this series of artworks, we take on, on those pieces, which we believed to be lost, thrown away, or put aside for a very long time. We take on those again, dig deeper into memories and eventually pain, face the fear, and focus more on transporting the message and the healing process instead of the art being beautiful.

Greif Lazic are Michele and Aleks, a gay couple since 2016 and queer artist duo since 2019. Since mid-2022, they have been creating art, with and in love, from their studio in the heart of Berlin. Greif Lazic's art examines queer identity, intimacy, and sexuality. They draw inspiration from queerness, homosexuality, pornography, pop culture, and exciting encounters in their home base in Berlin. The name "Greif Lazic" is an homage to the artists' mothers; these are their maiden names.
