Hares are the subject of many country myths. While they may be the fastest thing on four legs in the UK, their mad March courtship rituals give them staying power in folktales. The hare is, by turn, said to be cunning, benign, romantic and - in spring - mad. This drawing on silk, drawn in ink and watercolour, muted and translucent, is mounted on cable-hung toughened glass, ready to hang. It can also be mounted as a free-standing panel on a wooden base - if you'd prefer this, just ask.

Tony Roberts was born in Kent in 1946. His professional career as an artist started early, working with pen and brush as a young monk. Now, in retirement and long out of monastic life, his artistic practice has greatly expanded, including glass sculptures and canvas works in private and public collections worldwide, mostly to commission. Much of his current work involves multiple disciplines and media in each single work.
