About The Artwork
Is blood a sign of healing or a sign of a wound? As I cut into my wood pieces I feel the wounds that I am incurring on them, like my own wounds. This piece I wounded with knives and power tools. I then proceeded to heal the wounds with the various paints that I applied. The red paint, in this case, was like my blood healing this wounded tree.
