Bio: -Born: Marrakesh, Morocco in 1991 -Moves to the United States in 2000 -Lives and works in New Jersey and New York My name is Asem Moustafa Ahmed, and I am a New Jersey-based artist specializing in oil painting, portraiture, and figure drawing. I also explore sculpture, printmaking, and jewelry-making as part of my artistic practice. I pursued formal training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts(PAFA) in Philadelphia, where I had the privilege of studying in their renowned cast hall and learning from masterworks in their museum. During my time at PAFA, I was fortunate to meet and study with exceptional artists, including Peter Van Dyck, Renee Foulks, and Al Gury. Most recently, I earned my Master’s degree from the New York Academy of Art, where I studied under the guidance of celebrated artists such as Dan Thompson, Mario A. Robinson, and Randolphlee McIver. Today, I work in my studio, driven by my passion for creating beautiful, immersive works that capture the vast array of textures, colors, and forms that surround us.
