So many ancient forms work in harmony to fill ones senses with joy in the high sierras. Here at my favorite spot to paint by the edge on the Dana fork of the Tuolumne river, I relished the beauty and harmony of a late summer day. I can feel a symphonic composition of light, color and high mountain desert harmony. Here in high mountains the music of ancient relationships are heard.

I work in Yosemite National Park as a tour guide. I have worked in Yosemite for over 30 years. My artwork is inextricably tied to my Yosemite Geography and my ecological message. I am a plein air painter, print maker, and photographer. I also write and illustrate my own books. I am the author of "A Brief Instruction in Christian Religion," (A translation of Faustus Socinus), "The Chronicles of the Field Mouse Timothy," (Corn,Tomato,Wheat, Cotton, Sweet Potatoes, Rice Paddy, Pond Mouse and Yosemite), "Nature Vision" (Poems), and I have illustrated the short stories of my late daughter Sandra Fontana "Cereal at Midnight." I love nature and the wilderness. I am a proponent of the global national parks movement.
