ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Holy Effusion Pears 2 is an 8" x 8" x 7/8" mixed media painting on a cradled wood panel, containing a giclee´ print of my original art, combined with hand applied and manipulated gold metal leaf that has been stained and then sealed with a UV protectant. My metal leaf art is inspired by the quiet, rich beauty and patina of the Byzantine art found throughout Europe in the churches and cathedrals. It has a beautiful golden, time worn patina that looks both historical and elegant. The gold wraps around the edges of the wood panel. This piece is ready to hang and does not require a frame. It is shown alongside a similar piece from the same series, titled Holy Effusion Pear 1.
